Certificate in Bank Management - Emory University.

MARITAL STATUS AND FAMILY MEMBERS: Married to wife Jeanette Simpson; father of four sons.

LENGTH OF RESIDENCY: 8 years  

COMMUNITY/CIVIC ACTIVITIES: Past President and current member of the Dynasty Lakes Homeowners Association; Hazel Crest Clean-Up Day volunteer; Arbor Day volunteer; served on the Park District Strategic Planning Committee and the Crest View Pool Advisory Committee. I participate in the Hope International’s Banking on the Future Program,  from which I received the Banker Teacher of the year award and the National Presidential Volunteer Award. I am active in the Witt’s Children’s Reading Program, Real Men Cook and Principal-for-the-Day program.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE, WHICH ADD TO YOUR QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS OFFICE: My experience as a squad leader in the Army, assistant store manager and a bank manger demonstrates my ability to work with and listen to people. My professional focus has been on developing business plans and budgets and creating performance-oriented teams. My current role as a bank Assistant Vice President and my past experiences as a national bank examiner, auditor and assistant retail store manager make me uniquely qualified to solve budget issues, develop business plans, safeguard assets and control debt.  But my vision of the Park District is to offer more programs and activities for residents of all age groups, especially children, teenagers and seniors.

STATEMENT: I am committed to the vision that expands park district programs, activities and improves communications with the residents. I will focus on financial reporting, setting financial goals, safeguarding assets and controlling debt to ensure the financial future of the Park District.

 
     

Rosemarie Adams

OCCUPATION: TV Operations Engineer—WGBO Channel 66—Univision of Chicago.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: B.S. degree, cum laude, Jackson State University, 1976.

FAMILY: Married to husband Harold, 3 daughters, ages 22, 19 and 14.

LENGTH OF RESIDENCY: 9 years

COMMUNITY ACTIVITY: nine-year member of St. Anne Church in Hazel Crest; commissioned with the Archdiocese of Chicago on Race Relations; member of St. Anne’s Family Choir; participant in various community affairs projects; member of Chateaux Homeowners Association; Youth Mentor; Park District’s Citizen Advisory Committee.

ADDITIONAL CIVIC EXPERIENCE WHICH ADDS TO YOUR QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS OFFICE: Elected incumbent (6 years); former president (2 years); secretary; presently vice president of the board and chairman of the Finance Committee; member of National Recreation and Park Association; member of Illinois Association of Park Districts.

STATEMENT: Along with the hard-working staff and commissioners, we have accomplished many tasks and projects for the well being of our community. We have come a long way, and there is still more work to be done. The Park district is headed in the right direction. We are presently in good financial standing. We are working on better projects and programs that our residents can participate in and be proud of. In running for re-election, I would help our park district become an asset to our community.

OCCUPATION: Work for the State of Illinois Department of Transportation, 28 years.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Bachelor’s of Art, North Park College.

FAMILY: Married to wife Cindy, two sons, ages 18 and 14.

LENGTH OF RESIDENCY: 31 years

 

 

COMMUNITY ACTIVITY: Park Commissioner 9 1/2 years; coach football, basketball and baseball for 28year at St. Anne’s and at the Park District. Help out on 4th of July, Clean-Up Day and Christmas Party.

ADDITIONAL CIVIC EXPERIENCE WHICH ADDS TO YOUR QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS OFFICE: 9 1/12 years as a commissioner working with capital projects; member of the IAPD/NAPD for state and federal park districts.

STATEMENT: The Park District is in the best financial state it has ever been in during my time as a commissioner. We were able to pay off some big capital projects. We are looking to more capital projects to be built with the help for the Citizens Advisory Council. I am proud of the job I have done as a commissioner.
