Property Maintenance--two words that my make you want to pack up the homestead and move into a cave. In reality, there are some relatively simple acts that can be performed to help your property maintain its appearance and its ability to provide you and your family with shelter.
Most of the time, home maintenance involves only routine practices such as cleaning, performing minor repairs, cutting grass, and handling garbage properly. Occasionally, however, the work needs to be taken to the next level which may involve painting and removing or replacing home materials.
The bottom line in all cases is that preventative home maintenance can go a long way in improving your home's appearance and securing it value.
In the effort to assist Village residents and to keep them well-informed, the Department of Fire, Rescue, and Inspectional Services will be hosting a one-day, home maintenance workshop on Saturday, February 26, 2000, at Fire Station #2. There, such topics as homeowner's inspection methods, dire safety practices, identifying the severity of home repairs, basic homeowner repair procedures, and related topics will be covered. A $5 fee to cover the cost of printed materials will be collected at the time of the workshop.
Residents who are interested in attending this informative workshop are asked to register by either calling the Fire Department at 335-9630 or by returning the registration form below to Fire Station #2 at Stonebridge Drive and 175th Street. If you have questions about the workshop, call Asst. Chief Don Bettenhausen or Lt. Bill Schultz at 335-9630, ext. 511 or 512.
