TOWARD A BETTER HAZEL CREST

 The Village of Hazel Crest participates in a program funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered through The Cook County Department of Planning.  This program is designed to assist homeowners in the rehabilitation of their homes, bringing them into compliance with building, fire and health safety codes. This enhances the overall appearance of the Village.

 The Single Family Rehab Program is funded with the Community Development Block funds.  Funds are provided on a no interest basis to those who qualify.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Any homeowner whose income falls within the guidelines set by Cook County, and who has owned their home for over one year may be eligible.

ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES

•  Electrical Repair and Service Upgrades
• Plumbing Repairs and Fixture Replacement
• Interior Repairs
• Furnace/Boiler Repair or Replacement
• Flood Control and Prevention
• Drywall and Plastering
• Roof Repair or Replacement
• Insulation and Weatherization
• Replacement of Windows and Doors
• Siding, Gutters, Fascia and Soffits
• Porch Repairs
• Handicap Accessibility for Disabled Persons

INCOME GUIDELINES

• Household income meets the qualifications indicated below.

• You are the owner and live in the home.

• There is equity to cover the amount of repairs.

If you said yes to the above questions, CSDI can rehabilitate your home with Federal (CDBG) Funds.  You will not make monthly payments and there is never any interest.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In this program, funds are provided on a no interest basis, secured by a permanent lien on the property.  Repayment in full may be made at any time, or upon the sale of the home.  A determination of eligibility will be made prior to approval of the loan.
